Antriebsvielfalt der Zukunft : Zur Herausforderung der elektrischen und teilelektrischen Fahrzeugantriebe
Ein erfolgversprechender Weg, dem Treibhauseffekt zu begegnen und gleichzeitig die individuelle Mobilität der Autofahrerinnen und -fahrer nicht zu beschränken, ist der zumindest teilweise Einsatz vorzugsweise regenerativ gewonnener elektrischer Energie zum Betrieb von Kraftfahrzeugen. Dies treibt den Trend weg vom rein verbrennungsmotorischen hin zum elektrischen, mindestens aber teilelektrischen Antriebsstrang. Vor diesem Hintergrund werden in diesem Beitrag Treiber und Hindernisse dieses Trends, mögliche Lösungswege sowie die technischen Schlüsselkomponenten elektrischer und teilelektrischer Antriebsstränge diskutiert.
This article gives a brief overview of different aspects of electric mobility. The need for this new technology in the automobile industry is reviewed and the basic advantages of an electric vehicle will be illustrated. The author introduces the “well to tank” and the “tank to wheel” efficiency in order to quantify the entire energy chain from the fossil or regenerative source to the road. Other boundary conditions such as pricing of resources, demographics, legislative and customer requirements are mentioned. The technical principles of electrified vehicles are then discussed. This will provide a picture of the possibilities and the future prospects for electric vehicles as well as combustion engines. The fundamentals and advantages of hybrid electric vehicles will be described. Following from that, a comparison of conventional vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles and battery-powered electric vehicles as well as a closer look at the contemporary battery technologies will be given. Finally, a simple estimation of the maximum costs of a battery system related to an economic use of electric vehicles and the future registrations of vehicles based on their propulsion system will be predicted.
