Synthesis and Characterization of β-Diketiminate Zinc Complexes

Reactions of the monomeric β-diketiminate zinc complex (Mes)NacNacZnMe
(MesNacNac = {[2,6-(2,4,6-Me3-C6H2)N(Me)C)]2CH}) with ROH (R = Me, Et, i-Pr) yielded the corresponding zinc alcoholates [(Mes)NacNacZnOR]2 (R = Me 1, Et 2, i-Pr 3). In addition, the reaction of (Mes)NacNacZnCl with various reducing agents such as K-graphite, K, or Na gave the Zn(II) complex [(Mes)NacNac]2Zn 4. 1 - 4 were characterized by elemental analyses, mass and multinuclear (1H, 13C{1H}) NMR spectroscopy (1H, 13C), and by single crystal Xray analysis.
