Enterprise Systems are the core application systems of today’s companies. Over the last decades, their scope has broadened more and more, today encompassing more business functions than ever. They are developed by producers of standard software and are adopted by companies in extensive implementation projects. At the same time, by using cloud computing various forms of hardware or software services can be provided. Considering today’s practice of making standard software systems available through individualization, a strategic perspective is taken in order to identify potential applications that cloud computing may offer for Enterprise Systems.
