Magnetic Loop Antenna: Berechnung, Simulation, Ersatzschaltbild, Messung und verbessertes Verständnis der Funktionsweise

The Magnetic Loop Antenna for reception and transmission at 7 MHz is discussed based on an experimental prototype. The calculation of design parameters based on published equations is compared to results from EM-simulations using EZNEC+. An equivalent circuit is derived based on the interpretation of simulation results. Measured antenna properties are compared to predictions from simulation and several characteristics are discussed. In particular, the relation of measured impedance match bandwidth to the antenna efficiency is explained.
