Digital Storytelling. Neues Erzählen im Web 2.0? : Eine Untersuchung anhand von We Are Angry und The Travel Episodes

Durch die Erfindung des Computers und des Internets bieten sich neue Möglichkeiten für die Kulturtechnik des Erzählens. Theorien des Hypertextes fordern eine Loslösung von der Linearität und die Emanzipation des Lesers als Grundstein einer neuen Ästhetik. Um herauszufinden, inwiefern das neue Erzählen im Web 2.0 dieser Ästhetik verpflichtet ist, analysiert diese Arbeit mit "We are angry" und "The travel episodes" zwei aktuelle Projekte. Sie kommt zu dem Schluss, dass neue Analysekriterien gefunden werden müssen und schlägt eine Konzentration auf die Konzepte Immersion, Social Framework, Multimodalität und Serial Structure vor.

The invention of the computer and the Internet offers new perspectives for the cultural technique of storytelling. Theories in hypertext research postulate an abandonment of linearity combined with an emancipation of the reader as basis for a new aesthetics. To discover to what extent new forms of storytelling in the web 2.0 are committed to this aesthetics this paper analyses the two recent projects "We are angry" and "The travel episodes". It arrives at the conclusion that the introduction of new criteria for an analysis is necessary and proposes a focus on the concepts of immersion, social framework, multimodality and serial structure.
