This paper addresses the issues of political reforms and political change in China. Economic reforms and pressure exerted by various forces of society and even within the Communist Party have pushed forward structural political changes. Yet, due to the tremendous economic, social and political changes the political leaderships is facing four dilemmas: the dilemmas of problems in terms of modernization, stabilization, legitimacy and power. Furthermore, we are concerned with the role of intellectuals and think tanks before discerning the major discourses on political reforms and democratization among Chinese intellectuals. Finally, we discuss prospects of political discourses, reforms and changes.
