Entwurf und Optimierung fremdlichttoleranter Tiefenkamerasysteme auf der Basis indirekter Lichtlaufzeitmessung
The dissertation presents a time-of-flight approach to building so-called 3D-cameras. Its implementation allows to take images containing the distance between the recorded objects and the 3D-camera without being affected by background light. No mechanically operated shutter is required.
One major part of the dissertation is a detailed mathematical model of the complete system. The model considers illumination, optics, the image sensor inclusive external circuitry and the calculation of the distance data from the raw data read out from the CMOS-sensor. It allows quantitative predictions about the resolution of the 3D-camera.
